Evacuation of wounded Nadzab
Description
Sign at Nadzab drome reads "Change here for Tsili-Tsili, Port Moresby, Milne Bay, Dobodura, Lae, Madang, Wewak, Tokio". Also hand pointing direction to "City Cafe". Two soldiers hold up torn Japanese flag. Three wounded men on stretchers are placed on ground to await transport. Wounded man on stretcher looks towards camera as he smokes cigarette. Shirtless soldier on stretcher looks towards camera as he smokes cigarette. Shirtless soldier in background bends to read card on patient. Troops carefully load stretcher patient into transport aircraft.
