Native village ANGAU, Lae, New Guinea
Description
These shots were photographed in the Butibum, Kamkuma and Engati villages, situated in Lae, approximately one mile from the Busu River. Following the defeat of the Japanese in the Huon Gulf campaign, rehabilitaion of the natives was the job of Australian New Guinea Administrative Unit (ANGAU).
