Disembarkation of 7 Division Morotai
Seven thousand five hundred troops and many hundreds of vehicles of 7th Australian Division arrived at Morotai from Australia on the morning of 12th June, in twenty five Landing Ship, Tank (LST). Heavy rain made the unloading unpleasant. Shows a bulldozer filling in the gap between the hard surface of the beach and the LST ramp. Troops disembarking from LST 938. Loaded three ton truck moving off to the staging area. Pan left to right showing nine LSts discharging troops and cargo. Troops sitting back under ground sheets as a truck moves off. LSTs moving to anchorage in Morotai roadsteads. Radar equipment on the right. Troops on the back of a truck move off in convoy right to left. Army MP on point duty at junction of road from beach and main Morotai road. Traffic held up to allow convoy to pass. Men receiving midday meat at transit camp. Overall view of men eating midday meal. Officers queque up in the same way as the men. Two soldiers in a tent read letters from home.
