Activities at 2/2 Commando camp Rabaul
Description
Many of the soldiers seen in this film were photographed by Damien Parer in Timor. Mainly the troops are shown relaxing and swimming. Scenes include - Major Laidlaw, CO of the Squadron, Lieutenant B Campbell and Captain R Fox. Also shown are Sergeant E Hodgson, one time prisoner of the Japanese in Timor, Sergeant J Poynton BC (Dutch) DCM MID, Corporal Harrison - claimed by Major Laidlaw and others to be the finest soldier in the AIF, Lance Corporal F O'Neill, who brought out the radio from Japanese held Tibessi in Timor on which contact with Darwin was first made.
