Description

On his arrival at Boram in the first Liberator aircraft to land on the airstrip since its completion, the Commander in Chief, AMF, General Sir Thomas A Blamey GBE KCB CMG DSO ED, was met by the General Officer Commanding 6 Australian Division, Major General H C H Robertson CBE DSO; they left immediately for the former airstrip at Wewak, where six thousand five hundred troops were assembled on the strip. After reviewing the three quarter mile, six deep line of men by jeep, General Blamey addressed the parade from the dias and then took the salute as representatives of every unit in 6 Division marched past. This was the final parade of 6 Australian Division. Scenes 1-10 were exposed at a rehearsal and not at the actual parade.
