American Independence Day parade, Hiro
Description
Independence Day was celebrated by the Americans in remembrance of the signing of the US Declaration of Independence. This year the celebrations were joined by the men of BCOF as freedom loving peoples of the world. At Hiro, the BCOF area units of 34th Australian Infantry Brigade paraded and were inspected by the OC Chigoku US Military Government Team, Colonel (Col) Snyder. At the marchpast Col Snyder took the salute and later addressed the troops. 26 (N392) Brigadier Ronald Nicholas Lamond Hopkins CBE, CO 34th Brigade, took the general salute.
