Jubilee celebrations week, Canberra
Description
This fim records some of Canberra's 1951 Jubilee celebrations , including what is probably the public holiday of May 9 for the Jubliee opening of Parliament. It shows crowds at a parade outside Parliament house including trooping of the colours, armoured vehicles , inspection of troops. There are also scenes at Duntroon, including of the Governor General Sir William McKell arriving and taking the salute, inspecting troops and the band; arrival of offical guests; viewing of the march past.
