Gift day in Vietnam DPR/TV/473
Description
Australian soldiers from task force units which have assisted in an extensive civil action programme were presented with token gifts: Small ornaments, sweets and other economy items as a gesture of thanks. The part ceremony took place in Hoa Long village. The villages and troops were addressed by Madame Dat, wife of the Province Chief, Colonel Le Duc Dat. The number of Vietnamese women on the committee joined with Madame Dat in presenting the gifts. Identified personnel: Major John Donohoe of Mosman, Private (Pte) Peter Vale of Adelaide, Pte Wayne Marks of Burnie, TAS, Pte Graham Grant of Sydney, NSW and Trooper John Trebilco of Melbourne.
