Gallantry award to WO2 Leslie Osborn MM - Vietnam. DPR/TV/533
Description
At the HQ of the Free World Military Assistance Organisation in Saigon, Warrant Officer Class 2 (WO2) Leslie Osborn of Mt. Lawley WA, received the Military Medal for Bravery. WO2 Osborn was an Adviser with the Australian Army Training Team in Vietnam was presented the medal by the Australian Ambassador to the Republic of Vietnam, Mr Lewis Border. WO2 Osborn's citation read: 'In recognition of his bravery and professional skill in Thua Thien Province Vietnam, on 1965-05-29 when largely through his efforts the life of an officer was saved.' The officer was United States Service Man, Captain Paul Chalmers who was wounded in action. Identified personnel: Deputy Commander A F V Air Commodore L Dowling, Captain Ross Walker of Mary Borough.
