Description

Activities of the Royal Australian Army Nursing Corps in South Vietnam filmed in 1971 by the Directorate of Public Relations. Nurses are shown caring for and assisting in operations on wounded soldiers in the Australian defence hospital in Vung Tau during the Vietnam War. Quality of hospital care for Australian defence personnel is shown to be excellent and full recovery of Australian wounded is very high. Medical staff are a blend of civilian and defence trained professionals. Soldiers work as medical assistants, specially trained for male nursing duties.
