RAAF Antarctic Flight Auster aircraft and icebreaker 'Kista Dan'
Description
Australian Antarctic Base. RAAF Auster floatplane being lowered from the icebreaker 'Krista Dan'. Ski equipped Auster taking off from ice. Two Austers were operated by the RAAF Antarctic Flight these were A11-200 and A11-201. A11-200 was lost in a crash on 1 April 1954 and A11-201 on 13 April 1955.
