254 Private Joseph Patrick Vidal Marrinon 31st Battalion seated on edge of verandah third from right (with arm in sling) at the Randwick Military Hospital (No. 4 AGH, later known as the Prince of Wales Hospital). Pte Marrinon was wounded and taken Prisoner of War (POW) at the Battle of Fromelles in 1916. The shrapnel in his arm was removed on his return to Australia.
