Wedding portrait of George Vernon Evans and Elizabeth (Betty or Bettie) Stephens, wearing their First World War uniforms and ribbon bars. Lieutenant (Lt) Evans served with the 6th Light Horse and Staff Nurse Stephens with the Australian Army Nursing Service. Both served in Egypt and returned to Australia on the same ship, embarking aboard HT Madras at Kantara on 27 June 1919.
