File relating to the First World War service of Lieutenant General Sir John Monash, Repatriation and Demobilisation, AIF. This file consists of one bound volume of letters transcribed in 1934 with the contents ranging in dates from 4 March 1916 to 28 December 1918. These letters cover Monash's leave in the french Rivera, the details surrounding the Battle of Messines, a short break in England after the battle, the Third battle of Ypres, German Spring Offensive, general observations of the workings of the AIF, a summary of the activities of the Australian Corps in 1918, the Armistice, the repatriation and demobilisation of the AIF and his activities in England after the Armistice.
