Collection relating to James Lovel Stirton
Description
Studio portrait of 1031 Private (Pte) James Lovel Stirton, 7th Light Horse Regiment. After serving at Gallipoli and in Egypt, Pte Stirton returned to Australia in June 1919. He went on to serve in the Second World War, serving with the 2/6 Battalion and was captured during the Greek campaign of 1941. He was held at Stalag 383, Hohenfels, until the end of the war.
