Studio portrait of Second Lieutenant Arthur Jerry, 28th Battalion. He was commissioned as an officer from the rank of sergeant in October 1916, and the same month was awarded the Military Medal for his conduct at Gallipoli and in France. On 26 March 1917 he was wounded by an enemy shell near Lagnicourt and was taken to a nearby dressing station, where he died of his wounds. He is buried in the Queant Road Cemetery in Buissy, France.
