Studio portrait of 184 Lance Corporal Sydney Martin Lord, 2nd Field Ambulance. Lord embarked with the 1st Australian General Hospital at Melbourne on 18 May, 1915, serving with this unit in Egypt until he was transferred to the 2nd Field Ambulance and sent to France in March 1916. He was transferred to the 1st Division Signals Company in February 1918, and then back to the 2nd Field Ambulance in November. He returned to Australia in August 1919.
