Description

This folder contains copies of 36 letters sent by Field Marshal Lord William Birdwood to Sir George Foster Pearce between 17 March 1917 and 10 October 1919. During this period, Sir George Foster Pearce was the Minister of Defence in Australia. The original file cover, located with 7/1 Part 1, features Birdwood’s own handwriting and records the date of every letter it originally contained. This file also contains letters that were sent as attachments to this correspondence, including letters to Birdwood from Brigadier General T W Glasgow, Major General William Holmes, Brigadier General Charles Rosenthal, and Brigadier General Launcelot Kiggell.
