Description
Informal group portrait of members of the 1st Light Horse Regiment posing with an unexploded Turkish artillery shell. The shell had been fired at Australian positions from nearly a mile away and had been dug up by Australian soldiers at the foot of Pope's Hill. One of a series of photographs from an album relating to the service of Lieutenant William Hopkin 'Hop' James, 1st Light Horse Regiment.
