Collection relating to the Second World War service of VX130390 Sergeant Halliday James Simpson, Headquarters Second Australian Army. Comprised of one telegram and two original letters handwritten by Sgt Simpson in 1943 and 1944 to his mother, Mrs Grace Elizabeth Simpson. Sgt Simpson was known as 'Did' by his family, and he was the son of Lt Col James William Albert Simpson, 36 Battalion AIF, who was killed in action in France in 1917.
