Collection of seven photographs related to the service of VX36695 Lance Corporal Ian Hamilton Sutton Hanlon, 2/9 Cavalry Commando Regiment in the Middle East. The collection includes a portrait of Ian Hanlon and an unidentified soldier in Syria; moving vehicles and equipment from the desert by rail; German tanks and armoured vehicles; and a greeting card titled "A Happy Christmas and a Victorious New Year" featuring a portrait of an unidentified member of 2/9 Australian Cavalry Commando Regiment. The German vehicles incude a SdKfz 2 Kettenkrad tracked motorcycle, a tracked assault gun, a Sd Kfz 7half-tracked vehicle and an American M3 tank (T37776) used by Germans forces.
