Seated on the ground is Sqn Ldr Gordon, Officer Commanding A Flight. This photograph is part of a photographic scrapbook compiled by Flt Lt Norman Peter Coles Gunson, 22 Squadron, RAAF, covering his service during the Second World War in New Guinea. Flt Lt Gunson was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross on 23 May 1944 for his devotion to duty and gallant service. The Memorial also holds the log book of Flt Lt Gunson (PR05338).
