Description
Two letters of thanks written to Frances (Dolly) Gugger when she was 16 years old, by soldiers who received pairs of socks she had knitted for troops on the Front. One letter was written from England on 1 July 1917 by 5881 Private Joseph Oliver of the 17th Battalion. Another was written from France on 20 June 1918 by 3434 Private Leslie Noble of the 46th Battalion. Both soldiers returned home from the war.
