Description
A canvas-topped jeep, serial number 215871, is parked near a maintenance tent on a snow covered apron at K-27, an airfield previously used by the North Korean Air Force between Yongpo and Hamhung on the East coast of North Korea. An American built Mustang P-51D aircraft of 77 Squadron RAAF, serial number A68-791, stands with several others in the distance. This aircraft crashed in January 1951 and was used for spares. From late November 1950 attacks on enemy supply routes continued until the following month when, as communist forces advanced, the Squadron returned to Pusan (K-1) on the East coast of South Korea.
