7.6 cm leichte Minenwerfer 1916 n/A Trench Mortar
The Model 1916 75.88 mm Trench Mortar n/A (neue Art) was used by the Germany Army during the First World War from 1916 onwards. The trench mortar is made from ordnance steel and features a breech loading, rifled barrel which is fitted with twin recoil recuperators. The barrel assembly sits on a turntable which can be swivelled through 360 degrees. Missing are the wheels off the base plate, firing pin and sighting equipment. There is corrosion evident in the recuperators and some light spot rust on the external surfaces. The ordnance is painted in faded olive green. Markings - TC cypher.
The Model 1916 76 mm n/A Trench Mortar was the standard light mortar used by the German Army during the First World War on the Western Front. It was introduced in 1916 and is a simplified production model designed to replace the earlier 76 mm Trench Mortar.
