Description
Collection relating to the service of Sapper Bede Lawrence Wall during the occupation of Japan. Collection consists of a memoir, with attachments, titled "A Young Soldier's Story : The Army of Occupation Japan 1946-47" written by Bede Wall. The memoir describes Wall's experiences in Japan as part of the British Commonwealth Occupation Force. Attachments include a translation of Emperor Hirohito's surrender address and an eyewitness account of the bombing of Hiroshima.
