Description
This engaging screen print features a nuclear mushroom cloud with the US flag as a backdrop. It was created as a recruitment poster for the Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) formed at the University of Melbourne in 1968 and printed in a share house (headquarters) on the corner of Palmerston and Canning Streets in Carlton. The SDS was directly inspired and modelled on the Students for a Democratic Society in the United States whose style of activism continues to be influential today.
