In the background is the detachment's communications box, covered with sandbags. One of 477 colour 35mm transparencies taken or collected by 2784336 Signalman (Sig) Stuart Lindsay Weller, 104 Signal Squadron, relating to his service in Vietnam between 1967 and 1968. Sig Weller notes: "He’s not dressed in the latest US Army greens but had just swapped a carton of Lucky Strike or Camel cigarettes for the Vietnamese 'Tiger' camouflage jungle suit. He had tried it on and gave us all a look at it."
