WINIMA, NEW GUINEA. 1942-09-03. LOOKING UP THE VALLEY TOWARDS BLAKES CAMP, WHERE THE KANGA FORCE MOVED ON ITS WITHDRAWAL FROM THE BULOLO VALLEY TO KUDJERU, AT THE BEGINNING OF THE BULLDOG TRACK. MULES WERE USED AS THE MAIN FORM OF TRANSPORT. IN THE FOREGROUND IS THE GUARD HUT, THE OTHER HOUSING A DRUM OF COFFEE KEPT ON THE BOIL FOR ALL COMERS. (DONOR S. MURRAY-SMITH).
