History / Summary

The donor served on H.M.R.F.A. "Reliance" at Mudros in 1915 and when "River Clyde" came alongside to have exit ports cut in her side and machine guns mounted for the landing at Cape Helles, "Reliance" took over all signalling gear from "River Clyde". Amongst the items were the flags. Messages were sent by "Reliance" to every vessel in the fleet from "Queen Elizabeth" down to and including the French squadron.
