British Pattern 1853 Cavalry Trooper's Sword : Royal Horse Artillery
Description
British Pattern 1853 Cavalry Trooper's sword. The hilt has a three bar steel guard engraved RHA K 117 and the grips are compressed black checkered (worn) leather rivetted to the tang. The curved blade has a single fuller to each side to within ten inches of the spear point. The ricasso has a makers trade mark of a knights head on the right and an inspectors stamp on the left.

This sword is marked to K Troop Royal Horse Artillery. The Pattern 1853 Cavalry sword was carried by other ranks of the Horse Artillery until 1891.
