Description

German Pattern 1934 Air Force Officer's sword and scabbard. The hilt has a silver plated cross guard in the design of wings with a gilt rounded swastika within a circle in the centre. The grip is blue leather (worn) bound with brass wire (loose) and the silver plated pommel is circular with the gilt rounded swastika design. The double edged blade is plain with a central single 260 mm fuller to both sides down from the guard. The ricasso is etched David.Malsch over DM in an oval over Steinbach (Thur). The blue leather scabbard has a silver plated chape and locket with a blue leather belt hanger attached to two loose rings on the sides.
