Description

Turkish Officer's sword and scabbard. The hilt is a brass three bar half basket with a crescent moon on the front cartouche and a plain brass curved back strap pommel. The grips are black leather with ten horizontal rings. The curved blade has a single fuller on each side to within 210 mm from the spear point and has 622 in arabic numerals on the right ricasso. The steel scabbard, with an overall rust patina, has two loose strap hanger rings on bands at 95 mm and 285 mm from the throat.
