Cadet's 1912 Dismounted Pattern khaki breeches : Cadet R H Wallace, Australian Army
Australian Army cadets 1912 Dismounted Pattern khaki wool breeches with reinforcing panels on the inner legs. Five button fly, the buttons are metal and dished, are marked 'COMMONWEALTH' and with a crown. One is missing. Waist is closed by a hook and eye. There are six internal metal buttons for braces. Lower legs have lace holes to allow the cuff to be drawn tightly to the leg. Laces are brown and the ends are twisted wire. Marked on the inner left pocket with 'CGCF 16 1916', and with indelible pencil on the other side with 'A.C.W. A.F.A.'.
Associated with 225 Corporal Richard Humphrey Wallace, 28 Battery Australian Field Artillery who wore the breeches when he was an army cadet during World War One. After the war he was stationed at Hobart in the Australian Field Artillery.
