Practical manual of spoken English issued under the authority of the Head Interpreter Section, "Go" Force the Headquarters Eighth Army in Rabaul December 1945. The compilers were Hayashi Seitaro and two members of the Signals Office, Yamada and Kondo. It was distributed to officers and used in translation. There are English phrases and Japanese characters and pencilled annotations by the donor. Also two maps, one reproduced by 2/1st Australian Army Topographical Survey Company September 1942 of the Koitaki provisional map with pencilled unit locations. The other, a roneoed copy of Moresby - Iorobawa map scale 2 miles to inch produced by Headquarters 7th Division also pencilled unit locations. Plus a photocopy of the souvenir program for the concert held in January 1946 at Group 9 Camp Mt Tomac, Rabaul on national holiday to mark the 2600 anniversary of the foundation of the Japanese Empire.
