Rock of Command : Lieutenant Colonel Ian Gordon, MINURSO
Description
White coloured rock with a number of cracks or fissures on its upper surface. The words 'MINURSO ROCK OF COMMAND' are written in black felt pen across the top, but the lettering is faded and partly effaced in some areas.

Rock kept by Lieutenant Colonel Ian Gordon, commander of the first Australian contingent to the United Nations Mission for the Referendum in the Western Sahara (MINURSO) from September 1991 to May 1992.
