Webley Mark V Revolver : Lieutenant C Grant, Driscoll's Scouts and First A.I.F.
Description
Webley Mark V double action, six shot revolver. Break open frame with a locking latch lever on the left side. The barrel is stamped MARK "V" and 1 MD 423. Frame marked WEBLEY MARK V PATENTS 1915 and 1MD423. Birds head shape grip with black plastic chequered side plates.
History / Summary
This revolver was carried by donor's father Lieutenant C Grant during the 1914-1918 War. He served in the South African War with Driscoll's Scouts, and put his age back to serve in the AIF during the 1914-1918 War. The markings on this revolver indicate that it was issued to the First Military District (Queensland).
