German Signal Pistol
Description
German single shot signal pistol of crude construction. Breech swings open from the left side and is cocked with a pull lever at the rear of the action. The grips are plain wood attached to the frame with two screw bolts and the left grip is stamped with X.II47 over LILLE within a square. There is a loop on the butt for a lanyard ring. Overall metal parts originally painted field grey.
History / Summary
Unknown. Possibly made in France for the occupying German forces. Captured by the 7th Battalion A.I.F.
