Description
"When war came to our Island". Brief reminiscence of German presence near and Japanese bombing of Nauru in December 1941. The author and her son were living on Nauru and were packed ready to be evacuated. They were assisted by an Australian artillery regiment. She also mentions the Australian garrison troops and the Nauru Volunteer Defence Forces.
