Description
Memoir of Norman Simpson's enlistment and service in New Guinea, Korea, Sabah, Malaysia and South Vietnam. He served with 2/28 Infantry Battalion and the Royal Australian Regiment (2nd and 3rd Battalion) and with Royal Australian Engineers (1 Field Squadron) rising to rank of sergeant. He describes the life of an infantryman and engineer, the conditions of service, his emotions, attitudes to the locals and to those serving with him, the transport, the weather and interaction with other units (British, American and Australian) and repeated basic training. The text is in three sections, Korea, Malaya and South Vietnam.
