Mark III Swift Training Rifle
Description
Mark III Swift Training Rifle. Markings- attached on LHS of stock beneath receiver is a metal tag inscribed "THE SWIFT TRAINING RIFLE S.R. MK III 14414". The rifle case has half - scale sectioned drawing on the inside lid, with the markers name and address on it. "The Swift Rifle Co. Ltd, 67/68 St. Aldates, Oxford".
History / Summary
It is believed that only small quantities of the rifle were made as its training benefits were questionable. The rifle is based on the No. 4 Rifle Pattern and consists of various mechanical spring powered devices to simulate rifle firing. The rifle comes complete with wood rifle case.
