Italian Signal Pistol
Description
Italian break action, single shot signal pistol. Frame stamped Mta PAT 1926, WHF over EAX with Italian proof marks and 18. The barrel is unlocked using the lever in front of the trigger guard. The grips are plain wood held together with a single screw bolt and there is a lanyard ring on the butt.
History / Summary
This pistol was collected by 3 Squadron, RAAF at Tobruk. This type of pistol is a copy of the German First World War signal pistol but has a shorter barrel.
