Operation Ainslie DPR/TV/692
Edited black and white copy of the colour camera original AWM film F04183. Story line is the same as F03916. Shows local villagers loading sheet tin onto a truck. A house being pulled down by sappers from 1 Field Squadron (Fild Sqn) RAE with the assistance of the owner and his labourers. Sergeant Brett Nolan supervises the project. A straw house is being set on fire by the Engineers. Corporal Henry Cooling of Townsville Qld, is lighting the house. The house burns and partially caves in. Local Vietnamese and soldiers from 1 Fld Sqn lower rafters as they pull down another house. The rafter is then loaded on a truck. Refugees move south along Route 2 as houses smoulder in the background. ARVN soldiers stand on the side of the road. Some refugees squat on the roadside waiting for a distribution of food. More refugees move along the road towards the camera. Refugees disappearing into a cloud of smoke from the burning village. Two sappers from 1 Fid Sqn throw debris on burning house and then retreat. Troops move along the road together with the Armoured Personnel Carrier. Backview of troops moving along the road and smoke clouds in the background.
