Moscow – Russian Prisoners of War
Description
Russian First World War poster promoting an exhibition to raise funds for Prisoners of War from the 31 October - 1 November 1915. The design depicting a middle aged woman in folk costume lamenting outside the walls of the Kremlin is by the well known Russian Impressionist painter Sergei Vinogradov(1869-1938). A nationalistic symbol the woman personifies the Russian nation.
