Description
Collection of 13 aerial photographs related to the Vietnam war. The collection was gifted by a US pilot to an Australian who was working as an orthopedic surgeon in a civilian hospital near Bien Hoa in 1968. These 8x10 photographs depict various US aircraft in flight and on the ground. Captions on the back identify various aircraft: Douglas A-1 Skyraiders, Northrup F-5 Freedom Fighter, Republic F-105 Thunderchief (serial 10127), Lockheed C-120 Hercules, Cessna A-37 Combat Dragon (USAF 14516 and USAF 14518), Lockheed C-141 Starlifter (MATS 38075), Cessna O-2 Skymaster (USAF 21304), Boeing B-52 Stratofortress (696), North American F-100 Super Sabre (USAF 63277), Convair F-102 Delta Dagger (USAF 41231), and Fairchild C-123 Providers performing defoliation spraying.
