The interview covers Able Seaman Goodwin's RAN service, including topics such as: the HMAS Shropshire; travelling to New York; cleanliness and hygiene; the animosity of the British to the Australians; HMS Arawa; HMAS Kanimbla and Moreton Bay; a naval battle involving the Warramunga and the Arunta; HMAS Bataan in the Philippines; the Elders Welfare Fund; and the signing of the peace treaty.
