Saw, Brad (Captain)
Collection relating to the United Nations Assistance Mission for Rwanda (UNAMIR) service of 182413 Captain Brad J Saw, Royal Australian Corps of Transport, Rwanda, 1995.
Wallet 1 of 1 - Consists of a typed six-page memoir recounting Saw's experiences as adjutant of the Second Australian Service Contingent deployed as part of UNAMIR in 1995. He gives brief context for the deployment, writes of the natural beauty of Rwanda, and describes the carnage left in the wake of the genocide. He also writes of the work of the Australian Medical Support Force in operating a hospital in Kigali and medical clinics across the country, of his own administrative work as adjutant, the welfare issues faced during on operational deployment, the logistical difficulties of the operational environment, the recreational activities organised for the Australian contingent, and the massacre at Kibeho.
