Description

Mrs Wallis was a teenager during the war and describes air raid drills, dances, the war effort work undertaken by the Voluntary Aid Detachments, the National Aid Detachments concerts, glee clubs. She mentions entertainment - motion pictures always ran throughout the war three times a week plus matinees. Mrs Wallis comments that elastic supplies were not available as the rubber was being used for the war effort. She also discusses war time songs and the end of the war.
