A general view of the small boat harbour at Newquay, Cornwall, where RAAF personnel on leave gave a swimming display at an aquatic carnival held from 7 to 9 July 1945. Being an English holiday resort, the crowd of 1,500 people was made up of Britons enjoying their first seaside holiday for years.
