Description

Collection relating to the Korean War service of O22139 Flying Officer Ronald David Guthrie, 77 Squadron, Royal Australian Air Force, Korea, 1953.

Wallet 1 of 1 - Collection contains official documents relating to the repatriation of Flying Officer (FO) Guthrie, a prisoner of the Chinese People's Liberation Army in North Korea. FO Guthrie was declared a casualty and reclassified as a prisoner of war (POW) on 29 August 1951. He was released at Panmunjon on 1 September 1953. Collection includes two booklets: "What has happened since 1950", a timeline of political, social, and sporting events from 1950-1953; and "Eighth [United States] Army welcomes home United Nations personnel".

Collection also includes a paper entitled "Information for Returnees" that outlines processing requirements for personnel returning from POW camps in North Korea, as well as a pictorial map depicting the processing facilities and their location.
